Chronological Impossibility

The timeline is devastating for the Marcello myth. Carlo Valsuani died on January 27, 1886. The Valsuani foundry was established in 1908, as documented on the foundry’s own business letterhead: “FONDEE EN 1908”. This creates a gap of twenty-two years between Carlo’s death and the foundry’s founding.

It is therefore chronologically impossible for Carlo (let alone any fabricated “Marcello”) to have founded the Paris foundry. The founder was Claude, orphaned at age ten, who would later build one of France’s most prestigious bronze casting establishments through his own technical mastery and artistic relationships.
